The first item that shows I have met the learning goal is my profile statement. From this profile statement you can see my aspirations for the future but also what skills I already have. I think this profile statement is important since it is the first thing people read on your CV, it gives the companies a first impression from paper. You can never redo a first impression. It contributes to the learning goal because it shows that I have a good vision of what I want to learn in the industry, but it also shows that I have knowledge of what I am good at and what I can contribute to the company. I think a statement like this makes it easier for companies to get an impression of your professional aspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second item that shows I have met the learning goal is my career matrix, form this matrix you can see where I expect to work in the future. Am I more focused on festivals or venues and if I want to be self employed or an employee at this festival. I think this visualization gives a good idea and indication of where I want to work in the future. I think when I put myself on the matrix I was very convinced I wanted my own festival, this changed a little during the year. I now can also see myself working for festival organizers as an employee, I think for me it is more important that the company matches my values and ideas. I think this item shows I have met the learning goal as it shows I have put thought into where I see myself in the future as professional in the live music and dance event industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the third item that shows I have met the learning goal is my personal pitch. This pitch was an assignment we had to do for class, it is a pitch where you would have to imagine to have it at a networking event. In the pitch I am clear about what I do at the moment, what I want to learn and where I want to be in the future. This pitch can be used when talking to people at a networking event, but I think it can also be a replacement for my profile statement. The only difference between them is that with my pitch I have the personal communication between people with which I can try to persuade and convince them of myself. I think this pitch contributes to this learning goal as it shows I have knowledge of myself and my strengths and weaknesses and how to portray myself in a professional situation. It shows I know how to promote myself professionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>The past year I have learned that it is very important to portray yourself in a professional and interesting way for companies to like you. I think sometimes I am to quiet and in the background, this will not help me be seen and create the situation I want to be in. when I look at other student networking and trying to sell themselves in some way I am a bit taken back. I think for me it is important to stay close to myself and be me, this however I have noticed does not really get you anywhere, sometimes you have to be bold and out there to reach the point you want. During the year I think it was important for me to learn more about what I want from the industry and what the industry has to offer, I think I have grown tremendously in terms of knowing what I want to achieve and where I want to be professionally in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>What went wrong is that I let myself be put in the background a lot by fellow students. Even though I work really hard on projects I do not want to be in front of the group to be in the center of attention, for me knowing that what we achieved is a good result and the companies are happy with it is enough. I think this will take away from them actually seeing what I can do as an individual, it stops me from showing my personal knowledge and personality to them. During the year I had a bit of trouble seeing myself in the industry since I was doubting where exactly I want to be, I think I still have a long way to go to know where I want to go in the future. The internship next year will definitely help me with finding what I want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>I still want to learn how to be a bit more bold and out there when it comes to networking with companies and people. I think I deserve to have an opportunity to talk to them and show them my motivation and dedication, however I have trouble doing this. I need to learn how to do this and watching some of my fellow student networking has given me some inspiration and tips that I can use for myself. Finding out what I want to do I the future is also something that would be great, there are a lot of job opportunities in the industry but I still have no idea what I want to do, this is not because I don\u2019t know what it entails but just because I like a lot of it but also have no idea what fits me the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
